Yevgeny Prigozhin underwent cancer treatment

The fact that Yevgeny Prigozhin, who arranged the mutiny, suffered from cancer, was told to The Project by two of his employees who directly communicated with him in recent years. Both sources claim that it was abdominal cancer.

Prigozhin was treated for cancer for a long time and underwent serious therapy, says one of the interlocutors. According to him, “the process of tumor formation seems to have been stopped now”. Because of his illness, the head of the Wagner PMC leads a healthy lifestyle and keeps a strict diet. One of Prigozhin’s long-term employees says that in recent times he has only witnessed him drinking a glass of lemonade once.

The fact that Prigozhin is worried about his health is supported by the discovery of a meticulously outfitted medical office in his country house. After the mutiny began, security forces searched Prigozhin’s residence, and pro-Kremlin media outlets posted photos of investigative activities. One of them showed a room with an intensive care bed, a lung ventilator, and an oxygen concentrator.

It is also known that Prigozhin was treated in the elite Sogaz clinic (which has common projects with the president’s daughter Maria Vorontsova) and was one of its first clients with the “super VIP” status. Journalists had previously found a certain Dmitry Isaakovich Geyler in the list of the clinic’s VIP clients. During searches in Prigozhin’s place, law enforcers found a passport with this person’s name and the mutineer’s photo.

Prigozhin’s acquaintances do not rule out the possibility that his health problems may have influenced his decision to start a mutiny. “This is a man with his stomach and guts cut out!” – says one of his acquaintances.
